A training journal for jiu-jitsu

Know what keeps going wrong.

Say the session once on the drive home. Logic fills in what worked and what went wrong, asks only for what's missing, and tells you the problem that keeps coming back.

Logic

A coach that has read every session you've logged.

“open mat tonight, finally kept the underhook in half guard against Mike, but got my back taken twice off the scramble…”

Worked Kept the underhook in half guard Logic

Wrong Back taken off the scramble, twice Logic

Say it once. Logic fills the lines.

Talk or type the session in your own words. The log sheet opens with the lines filled in, marked as Logic's until you touch them.

Where did the scramble start: from half guard, or after they stood up?

Asks only for what's missing.

A question or two at most, answered with a tap. Then what it read, and what changed on your map.

Why do I keep losing my back?

It's come up in three of your last five sessions, every time after the scramble.

Back Escapes

Win the hands before you turn into them.

Ask Logic about your training.

It answers from your journal, not from the internet, and points to the position each answer is about.

Your week

Kept going wrong The back, off scrambles from half guard.

Next week 3 positional rounds from Half Guard (Bottom), then open rounds.

Every Sunday, your week read back.

What worked, what kept going wrong, and the rounds to start next week from, counted from your own weeks.

One loop

Done before you've left the parking lot.

  1. After class

    Log it

Effort, what worked, what went wrong, then the rounds and how long you drilled.

  2. Right after

    Logic reads it

It asks what's missing and tells you what it sees, in a sentence or two.

  3. Sunday

    See the pattern

The week in review, and next week's plan built from it.

Your map

Your game, drawn from your own sessions.

The map: positions joined by the routes between them, the ones the journal names lit as stuck, getting better or working.
  1. Positions light up

Stuck, getting better or working, from what your sessions say about each one.

  2. What you're working on

The positions your recent sessions keep coming back to.

  3. A game plan

Where your rounds start, then the plan from there, built only from your journal.

A sample journal. The map opens at ten sessions and fills in as you log.

Pricing

Questions

What people ask first.

Do I have to type it all out?

No. Tap to talk and say the session the way you'd tell a training partner. Logic turns it into lines you can change.

Does it push me to train more?

No. A week counts with one session, a rest day you mark keeps your streak, and there are no targets. Every number is your own.

Who sees my journal?

You. If you join a group with your gym, the others see only how many sessions and minutes you logged, never what you wrote or what Logic said.

Where does Logic's advice come from?

From what you've written, read against how each position is taught. It never makes up a number: those are counted from your sessions.

When can I get it?

It's coming to the App Store for iPhone, in the United States, for adults 18 and over. Android follows.
